An educational comic
With a touch of humor, Pierre-Yves Clerson of Catherine imagine has created and illustrated an original comic strip entitled « Les adventures extrANTIBIOrdinaires ». This work highlights the contribution of researchers and veterinarians from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Montreal, as well as members of the Op+lait group, in the battle against antibiotic resistance.
Superhero researchers in agriculture
Dressed in superhero costumes, these actors combined their superpowers to carry out an ambitious project aimed at collecting data on the use of antibiotics and antimicrobial resistance on dairy farms in Quebec. The objective of this study was to propose adapted strategies to improve the health of herds while combating this resistance phenomenon. The collection of samples for this project extended over a year and included around a hundred farms in the southern regions of Quebec.
Through this comic strip, they expressed the wish to make their work and results accessible to the general public and to future generations, in order to raise awareness of the importance of the fight against antibiotic resistance in dairy herds, while also highlighting the importance of research.
